1. Technical Updates

UK team

Testing the shared platform work that Brock has been working on. Thanks to Brock for all his help testing and fixing issues on the platform!
Working on MapTemplates
- The maps are interactive but there have been a few problems with some of the boundaries and charts.
- Researching accessibility options on the site. WCAG guidelines are being tested to incorporate into the site.
Busy with WDF and other tasks so the team has made less progress on the platform.
Working on user research experts to define user type for the site and user journeys to perform usability testing.

US team

Kali has been busy and hasn’t had as much time to compare the two sites. Will try to spend some time on this this morning to compare the differences.
Need to check the translation for the indicators to ensure that the accents are in the right places. But the indicators are from the UN site so it may not be necessary. Brock will check and get back to us.
There is a new chart type on the platform called binary. 17.14.1 - number of countries with policies in place on sustainable development, is a good example. This is a yes or no chart. Kali is reviewing the chart with Brock and Phil about it to get it right.
- UK approach is to display policy text instead of graphing these indicators. They classify them as a non-statistical indicator instead and there is a different protocol for those.

CODE team

Brock is working on developing the shared platform and getting things in place for the US and UK testing. Brock will discuss US issues after the call.
Brock has been working on translations and has moved it to the CODE organization page.
- The instructions page will help translators to find contextual information about words.
Caleb asked if we could have the language volunteers on one of the next calls. Seems fine with the group.

Country/subnational interest in cloning the NRP

Ghana may be officially launching the 15th of November
- Chris will be visiting Ghana next week to help them with their site. They have the older site that doesn’t have the split repository.
- Ghana will be working on adding data to the site when Chris is there.
Rwanda has also cloned and has a fully operational site.
- The intent is to begin using the shared site soon and there is work to be done to update them to the new shared platform.
- Brock or any developer can submit pull requests to help Rwanda and Ghana adopt the new platform.
Germany has approached the UK about helping to clone the site. They would like to have German on their and can work through the new translation site.
- Chris’s contact said he could help with the multilingual work. It will be slightly different because it isn’t a UN supported language, so there will be extra translation work.
Jamaica is interested in the platform and has forked the older version of it. Katarina has been in contact with them and asked if they were interested in learning more about the shared platform.
Armenia: Brock will be discussing this with them later. They have some funding issues for next year and so need this to happen in 2018. Phil is still working on getting approval so it’s unclear if he will be able to visit and help in 2018.

What can the people who are not attending the WDF session get out of it? There will be a rapporteur and they will be producing a short outcome document.
