1. Technical Updates

UK team

  • The UK moved to the Open SDG platform and pushed forward the map on the site.
  • A developer is starting March
  • SDMX update is moving along and using the new Data Structure Definitions (DSDs).
  • The Google Analytics dashboard is up and running. They are working on three separate dashboards and share with their structure with Poland. CODE is also interested in user behavior and what works and doesn’t on the platform.
  • They are having a meeting about additional features to add to the site, new colorations, ways to express the reporting statements. Some of them are examples of how you could overwrite the SDG site. Could then push it to the site after it is done testing on the UK site.
  • Will try to code so that it works to test for how it works on both sites. Talked to Brock about this.
  • Consultant came over to help out and help to backup the Github on Gitlab. Will be using Ruby to backup the website.
  • Have agreements to do some testing with the accessibility center and will report back on the findings.

US team

  • Phil - No major updates but want to continue to investigate backend of the site on how to connect to external APIs. Brock has tested this in the past using the CKAN platform. There are a bunch of other government sites powered by Jekyll that could be easier to work with.
    • Ann - this came up as a questions from UNSD.Would you come in through a different backend or just directly?
      • Choice of different data options. API from the CKAN platform would be one way that this could happen but still trying to figure out what would be manageable.

Poland team

  • Officially launched last week. Thanks to everyone for helping with the code. Based on the previous US version and isn't compatible with the current version but they are not attempting to change yet.
  • Working on developing an internal plan and analyze the documentation of the Open SDG version.
  • Michaal using prose and internal systems but looking to find other ways to do this with python and APIs. Can chat with Ann about how to do this. UK uses scripts and CSVs to load data into this platform.

CODE team

  • As discussed during the last coordination call, CODE has been working on a draft comms plan (attached) for the Open SDG platform. We'd like to discuss this draft together as a group and get feedback. In particular, would like to have people’s feedback on:
    • Timing to roll out the publicity and comms plan
    • How will we manage countries interest in this? Who will field interest from countries? How will we engage with them?
  • Ann and Kali haven’t had a chance to review this, so they will over the next few weeks and we will discuss it in more depth at the next meeting.
  • Ann - would be helpful to have some case studies on how it has been used. It is particularly helpful to have these stories for countries within different regions. Helps to show countries what challenges were faced, how they overcame them, and how the process of adopting the platform worked. Countries that have adopted the platform can help write and/or edit these stories.

Country/subnational interest in cloning the NRP

  • Kyrgystan and Cambodia are both interested. From the UNSD call.
  • Ann had some informal discussion with Germany on a task force.
  • From CODE - have heard from the government of Kazakhstan. They are interested in the Open SDG platform.

2. Upcoming events/conferences

3. Next steps
