UK team
- SDMX
- There are some departments in the ONS that are using SDMX and have produced a trial indicator using SDMX to see if it is possible. This work is being led by Lucy Gillum.
- Goal is to have an SDMX feature on the website that will read the JSON files and export to SDMX format.
- Current setup involves a program called "cord" and an oracle database
- UNSD is using this conversion tool
- Working with Abdula Gosalov to help with this process. Lucy is the expert on this and will call into the Monday meeting to give more details
- New developer has been delayed and will be starting the 4th of March.
- Map feedback to for Brock - like the nested zoom and the fact that it uses Leaflet.
- Rwanda
- Planning a visit on the 21st of January, not confirmed though.
- Rwanda is interested in adding multilingual: French and a local language.
- Meetings with UNSD as a part of the UNSD DFID project. Ann has been speaking with them about how their metadata work could be improved.
- On the UK site they are planning on changing to only 2 statuses: "reported online" and "exploring datasources" (a two-color system).
US team
- The last steps for deploying the new version of the platform are being taken.
- There has been some odd behavior happening on the site that Phil would like to troubleshoot. There is a problem with certain styles when they are deployed. It is deploying an old copy of the file when being deployed. Phil will chat with Brock about it.
- Kali not getting notifications for pull requests. Could be something with her settings. Will discuss later with Phil.
Poland team
- Will be publishing platform in January
- Brock to reach out for separate technical call after the holidays
CODE team
- "open-sdg" Github organization: https://github.com/open-sdg
- Brock set it up - Ann, Brock, and Phil are owners
- Added 2 starter repository to help countries implement the platform.
- Moved the sdg-translations repository into that organization: https://github.com/open-sdg/sdg-translations
- And created a repository of sdg-build and moved it there: https://github.com/open-sdg/sdg-build
- Working on a simple markdown based documentation, available here: https://open-sdg.readthedocs.io/en/latest/
- Leaflet map
- Cleaning up and implementing new features: http://brock.tips/sdg-site-maptest/4-2-1/
- Added a full screen button
- And a download button to download the JSON files.
- Changed the legend to be left to right.
- Brock put the feedback online and start working through it as a GitHUb issue: https://github.com/open-sdg/open-sdg/issues/33
- Question about overriding Open SDG
- Open SDG contains the _layout, _include, and assets files. These can overridden by adding a file to their repository.
Country/subnational interest in cloning the NRP
- Trips to Rwanda and Armenia both in January
- Indication from Germany that they are working on it. They just need to finish their translation.
- None
- Brock to start GitHub issues on the map.
- The US team should update the wiki on the repository and remove some documents. Brock started a document noting the differences between the platforms that needs to be fleshed out: https://github.com/GSA/sdg-indicators-usa/wiki/Differences-from-Open-SDG
- Brock to set up a technical call with Michal
- Reschedule next call for new year
- Thoughts on spreading the word about the new merged platform?
- Chris - no objections but thinks that we should wait to spread too much of the word until we have it implemented somewhere. But Ann may have a different idea about it.
- Phil - No objections.
- Brock will bring it up with Ann on Monday
