Collaboration Call: August 10, 2018

1. Technical Updates

US team

1. Translations
   1. Angela finished the copying and pasting from the PDF to the first spreadsheet for French translation of indicators. Brock and Phil will help her and run the script to put the changes into the appropriate .md files.
   2. Angela - May be helpful to bring in the changes one at a time in case something breaks the code.
   3. Angela has been working on changing the ‘indicator’ (8th) column in the the metadata.csv file.
   4. Kali - Still working on getting a french translator. Should be 2-3 hours of work. It would be more for the landing pages than the indicators.
   5. Kali - What does the translation work look like? Would rather have translators to work on something in a spreadsheet that would be easy for them.
      1. Brock- one way to do this would be to have them look at two URLs and compare the differences. Could make a spreadsheet with those
      2. Phil agreed that the list of URLs would be enough
2. Kali will be starting the next data calls in a few weeks.
   1. Kali is working on it being more structured and scheduled. This last year dragged on longer than she wanted and will shoot for March or April. Wants to try and kick off the call in August. Will put together a schedule of milestones.
3. Kali - October 1st will be the date when the indicator banner notices can stop displaying, although there will be some exceptions.
4. Phil connected with an SDMX group. Do we want to get in on their group calls and try and include ourselves in their SDMX process for SDG data. The question is if we have the capacity to do it?
   1. Kali is leaving it up to Phil if there is the capacity. Jen Park wants an SDMX quick start document.

CODE team

1. Working on the production deployment strategies with Phil. Brock has been focusing on the Circle CI aspect of deployment. Using the strategy of having two separate GitHub organizations. May also be possible to deploy to a separate branch in the same organization.
   1. Phil will follow up with Brock about it in email.
2. Phil still needs to go over with Kali the list of things to change or update that Brock and Phil have been working on. Will describe it by email first and then have a discussion with her.

Country/subnational interest in cloning the NRP

1. Armenia
   1. Looks like the date is set for October 8th.
   2. Brock and Phil to discuss logisitics in a meeting next week.
   3. Phil is working on the approvals for this work but hasn’t made as much progress. Kali recommends talking to Larry about it.
   4. If Phil can’t go, is there any reason that Brock shouldn’t go? Seems like it would still be worth it. Phil could be available for some kind of consultation.

2. Next steps

1. Brock or Phil will send out a scheduling call for next Friday with Kali to go over the changes to the platform with her.
2. Kali will continue looking for a translator from the Census Department.
3. Phil and Brock will run the script on the translation work from Angela to put it into the MD documents.
