1. Technical Updates

UK team

  1. UK team does not have a developer at the moment but is in the middle of the recruitment process. Because of this there has not been much work done done on the platform.
  2. Have been working on a mapping tool. Working with the digital publishing team and their mapping tool, make a few enhancements, and link to those maps. Will be able to send a demo around in a few weeks.
  3. Exploring APIs to enter and upload data from ONS. Haven’t figured out how to do a bulk upload with the metadata yet.
    1. US is also working on this so there will be experience on both sides when the merge happens.
  4. Service assessment was just finished. Ann will go through it and share the information with us moving forward.
  5. Working on a proof of concept in the UK to make the platform the central location for SDG information - not just data. Could also host the VNR information. Early stages of this conversation.

US team

  1. Working on advancing the French multilingual support
  2. Working on the plan for the next submission period for data updates
  3. Working on harmonizing and merging the platforms
    1. Kali has been reviewing the proof of concept

CODE team

  1. Brock has been working on merging the platforms. They have the merged, proof of concept up for testing.
    1. One of the requirements for the merge was to get multilingual going.
    2. Separate repository for the NRP as a "theme" which is all of the functionality of the UK platform, but without the country-specific pages and configuration.
    3. The proof of concept does the wide versus tiny conversion automatically
  2. Developing a wide versus tidy training for the wiki
    1. UK: Feedback from Rwanda was that people haven’t been having as hard of a time with it.
    2. Brock heard similar things from his conversations with a US provider. There is a preference for wide but can work either way.

Country/subnational interest in cloning the NRP

  1. Rwanda notes:
    1. Ann just returned from the Rwanda trip.
    2. Rwanda is talking about expanding the scope to have more than SDG information on the platform.
    3. Spoke to Rwanda about keeping them in the loop on future developments for SDMX. Rubin would be a contact to help with this.
    4. Received some positive feedback from Rwanda on the platform:
      • There are many other platforms out there, but they chose this one because there is country ownership.
    5. Rubin and Jean Claude may be at the UN WDF and will hopefully attend the CODE session.
    6. Rwanda wants to host the platform on their own server and not on Github. Phil and Brock both have experience on this. Rubin is hoping to come in on the calls so that would be a good time to talk it through.
  2. Armenia
    1. Still moving along with the plans
    2. They are still interested in the US platform but ideally the platform will be merged by then.
  3. Ghana
    1. Two people were in Rwanda for the training to update the platform.
    2. They have a new baseline report that they want to have the platform ready to be released at the same time.
  4. Australia
    1. Emily Poskett mentioned that they may have copied the platform and are working on it. Will follow up with them and see if a contact that we can reach out to.
  5. Czech Republic
    1. Positive feedback from them and seems like they have the capacity. Using the resources on the wiki page and following the progress.
  6. Germany
    1. Still trying to work through the bureaucracy and clearance.

2. Upcoming events/conferences

  1. WDF panel
    1. CODE is in the process of confirming panel. Representatives from Tunisia, Ghana (Omar), OECD, Esri, Data Act Lab, and US (Phil, if he can attend)
    2. Rwanda will be attending so they could be a backup in case Ghana can’t come. Could be good to have a call before hand to connect.

3. Next steps

  1. Brock to touch base with Ann and Matt about ways to test things out without a developer resource. Brock will follow up to send out an email to request a meeting.
  2. Kali has some feedback on the proof of concept that she sent to Brock. Brock will review it and work with Kali if there are any questions. Main point is that she feels like the screen is a little cluttered.
  3. Kali will send out an email to connect Phil and Mark on next steps with the BLM.
  4. Phil may be on leave for the next call and will confirm later.
