Discuss legacy UrbanSim code
- We're going to clean-up any UrbanSim derivative issues
- So we'll either make orca a dependency or re-write it since injection is a common idea
- Likely a couple weeks of Jeff's time to re-write it
- The AMPO signed contract and the contract maintained on the box account by the consortium is different
- The need for cleaning this up isn't motivated by UrbanSim but by AMPO's legal team
- Likely we'll do a task order later this year to remove orca and make the inject class smarter
-
Update on estimation integration for trip models
- Jeff working on trip mode choice currently and I'll plan to review - probably early next week
- We won't be supporting the legacy approach of no coefficient files
- We only have a few users and the software is still in the beginning, but moving forward, let's be mindful of backwards compatibility
- Using a deprecated approach for changing the interface / API is a good approach that we should adopt
- Let's also be more careful about releases and do them more often
-
Strategic plan
- I need to review
-
Shadow pricing
- SEMCOG shared that their shadow pricing testing showed that it didn't help all that much and so they may turn it off
- We can talk with Joel next time to learn more
- We should think about a good way to memorialize online findings like this
- Maybe a library, a forum, or something for the ActivitySim body of knowledge
-
Discuss release and ARC
- Test system now using Travis build matrix so jobs are better separated and the platform can more easily be extended with new code and tests
- Updated and extended maintained examples, see example_manifest.yaml and activitysim_resources
- This is also a good way for us to grow the system with confidence and stability
- Clint's ARC extensions are in, but tests are failing
- Clint to review and reach out for help if needed
- We're close to releasing
