Splitting and Merging

Split and Merge within AutomationML containers

The Split function allows you to split an AutomationML document into different parts. Splitting is possible for libraries and parts of the instance hierarchy. The selected parts are saved as an independent document. If references exist between the split documents, they are inserted in the respective documents as ExternalReference objects. The Merge function can merge split documents again.

The first sample video shows you how to use a container to store the individual documents of a split operation and how the documents can be merged again via the container.
