Project updates:
- The LT got a short update and had a discussion on the topic of lowering financial overhead rates. This discussion is going to continue in the next meetings.
Subproject updates:
- Testing (Aashish)
- Everything is on track. The testers found a few crashes, which are either fixed or in the process of being fixed.
- Most testing sites did not encounter any problems.
- Training (Fatema)
-
The content creation subgroup of the training subproject is currently meeting weekly; the general training group is meeting bi-weekly.
-
The content creation group met twice so far. It assigned different tasks to people, most of them centering on training content creation.
-
A couple of resources were created for the subgroup. This includes a private Slack channel, as well as a private git repository for people active in content creation.
The channel/repository are private because they contain CTF challenges and solutions - which should not be public. A docker image that will be used for the training has been created.
-
We are in conversation with Dockerhub about getting a Zeek namespace. If approved, we will move the docker images that currently reside under the “broproject” namespace there.
-
The LT should have the first version of the Zeek approved training framework for review by the end of August.
-
Zeek Week
- Not all training slots are filled yet, but we have interested parties that we are talking to.
- One of the two keynote slots is now filled (to be announced in the future), the second one is still pending.
- Artwork for Zeek Week has progressed
Advertisement Campaign
- We will experiment with advertisement campaigns for Webinars and Zeek Week.
Community Email campaign
- We currently have 27 signups for the Community Email list, even though this has not yet been advertised/formally announced.
- Currently nearly all signups are for the User persona. Due to the fact that there seems to be not much interest for the Core Developer/Package Developer personas and the fact that it is much harder to create content for these, we are going to push them back and concentrate on user content.
- In the future, the documentation team will be responsible for content creation and review for this email list.
Review of Mission/Vision/Values
- We reviewed the Mission/Vision/Values document again. Everyone in attendance approved of the current state.
- We are going to circulate the document to the merge masters and the Zeek team members.
- We plan to publish the Mission/Vision/Values statements simultaneously with Zeek Week
