Minutes

Virtual Zeek Week:

  • The LT examined the Zeek week registration statistics. Generally attendance increased significantly. It looks like we reached many demographics that may not have been able to access past conferences.
  • The LT discussed potential plans for the next Zeek Week conference. This discussion included the idea of a hybrid in-person/online event with a nominal fee for online attendance (to make sure that people that sign up really attend).
  • The LT concluded that the 20 minute talk-slot experiment worked out really positively.
  • The training track, user track & developer track segmentation was well liked.
  • Slack channels that were used for the conference will be archived on Friday.
  • Developer day: not much Slack feedback; much more activity on the second day.
  • Suggestion: doing one channel per day, like on the first day, might have worked out better on the second day too.

Zeek.org email transition:

  • Johanna to talk to ICSI to do transition.

Organization:

  • After a bit of discussion, the LT decided to try using google docs for organizing the LT meeting agenda, and Trello for task tracking.
  • We will start posting meeting notes publicly and put them on a dedicated section of zeek.org.
  • There was a short discussion about note-taking for meeting notes; for the next few meetings, the chair is going to do this.
  • We will update the LT page to reflect the new LT.
