Troubleshooting & Known Issues

xCore has some minor known issues, and here you can find a step by step of how to get around most errors.

The tag WIN is for Windows systems, TUX is for Linux systems.

Root Folder for WIN systems: %appdata%, you will see three x42 related folders here, Blockcore, xServer and xServerData.

Root Folder for TUX systems: ., you will see three x42 related folders here, .Blockcore, .xServer and .xServerData.

If you see the tag [WIN/TUX] these are fixes applicable to both systems.

a. The wallet is not properly syncing, stops the syncing process or doesn't have full connections:

1. [WIN/TUX] Restart your wallet.

If that didn't work:

2. [WIN] (Optional but highly recommended) Make sure your PCs clock is properly synced, we highly advise users to install this software.
3. [WIN/TUX] Close your xCore software, make sure all x42 and blockcore related processes are not running. Navigate to /Blockcore/x42/x42Main.
4. [WIN/TUX] Navigate to /Blockcore/x42/x42Main/ and delete the txdb folder.
5. [WIN/TUX] (For connection issues) Delete peers.json.

If the wallet is still not working properly:

5. [WIN/TUX] Reboot your PC/VPS.

b. xCore fails to register an xServer:

1. Withdraw your delegated funds from the 'Cold Staking' interface in your wallet.
2. Register it again.

c. xCore shows zero balance for an old wallet:

1. Hover over your syncronization icon on your xCore wallet.
2. If it is anywhere below the current block height of the network wait for it to fully sync.

(Block height can be checked on our explorer and on your local logs)

d. xCore gets stuck on loading and never opens:

1. Close xCore
2. Navigate to /Blockcore/x42/x42Main/ and cut all your wallets files from there into another safe folder.
3. Reopen xCore, after it is fully syncronized you can paste your wallet files back on the correct folder.
4. (Optional) If xCore is still stuck on loading delete every file in that folder, that will trigger a blockchain resync.

e. If all else fails:

1. [WIN/TUX] Reboot your PC/VPS.
2. [WIN/TUX] Make sure all x42 and blockcore related processes are not running.
3. [WIN/TUX] Safely backup the x42ServerMain.wallet.json.
4. [WIN/TUX] Delete the entirety of the /Blockcore/x42/x42Test folder, this will trigger a full resync of the blockchain, this may take several hours.
