Remote Delegated Cold Staking Setup

Gabriel Guarienti Machado edited this page Sep 9, 2021 · 14 revisions

This is the complete user guide on how to setup your cold staking delegated balance to another remote xCore software wallet. All delegated balance will be kept securely in a cold staking wallet, your funds will never touch the internet and you will still receive staking rewards if you setup this properly.

Warning: We do not advise you use the same xCore wallet for both xServer cold staking balance delegation and xCore balance delegation, some errors may occur.

Warning: Under no circunstance do a regular transaction to a cold staking wallet, your funds will be lost, these wallets only accept delegation, an option that can be found under 'Cold Staking' on xCore.

Warning: Under no circunstance use the same wallet to hot and delegated staking at the same time. You will get errors.

In case you haven't setup your xCore yet you can find the guide here and you can find the xServer Setup Guide here.

You can find out about other xCore functions here.

  1. Open your xCore software wallet and unlock the wallet you want to use by entering your password.

a. On your dashboard click on your wallet name and click on 'Cold Staking'. The xCore client receiving the funds should be on 'Delegated' mode, under advanced options.

b. By clicking 'Delegate' you will be able to send your funds to a secure remote cold staking wallet hosted by another xCore, this remote wallet is extremely secure and this function should be used for your entire balance if you plan to stake and not move funds around often, this will generate passive income in the form of newly minted x42 coins until our maximum cap of 42 million coins is reached. The user or entity hosting this remote delegation service has no access to any of its users funds, the delegated funds never actually leave the users wallet and the delegated right to stake your coins can be withdrawn at any time.

cs2

c. To send funds all you have to do is fill in the information required, 'Amount' for how many x42 coins you would like to delegate to the cold staking wallet, 'Delegated wallet address' for the address, and your 'Wallet password' to unlock the balance, after that just click 'Start delegation'.

cs3

Warning: If you are getting errors while trying to delegate large balances do it in steps, 20 to 50k x42 is the ideal range per delegation.

d. By clicking 'Withdraw' you will have the option to receive your delegated funds back to an xCore wallet of your choice, to do this all you have to do is to choose the 'Amount' you want to retrieve, the 'Destination address' for the wallet that should receive the balance and your 'Wallet Password' to unlock the balance, click 'Withdraw' after filling all fields.

cs4

e. Lock your xCore if it is unlocked.

f. Click this link.

g. Select the wallet you want to cold stake with.

h. Enter your password and click 'Unlock Wallet'.

Now you know how to delegate and withdraw funds to and from cold staking wallets.
