A point of sale terminal is normally where people pay for what they buy, it shouldn't be confusing, it shouldn't take too much time to learn how to operate. Just one look and almost everyone should be able to figure out how to use it. In short it should be idiot-proof.
It's like when you tap any menu from left something should happen on the right.
You can key in manually as well with on-screen keyboard!
