• 0.9.2 release -- Completed on 2023-06-30

  • VTK-m 2.0 support
  • Auto Camera
  • In Memory Extract
  • New Ascent Info Method (ref instead of copy out)
  • Fixed build_ascent zlib issues

• SC23 Ascent + Catalyst Tutorial was accepted

• Build issues:

  • 0.9.1 Spack build issue on ARM and Power + CUDA 11.8 https://github.com/spack/spack/issues/38045 -- have not followed up on this
  • CUDA 12.x build issue https://github.com/Alpine-DAV/ascent/issues/1156

• Frontier: Nicole has been doing large scale WarpX runs

  • Nicole implemented a field add function, for warpx used to combine fields for vol rendering
  • Ghost filtering step is slow, resurrected pre VTK-m 2.0 optimizations, still investigating

• Expression Infra: Cyrus is undertaking a stocktake of JIT and non-JIT expressions

  • Refactoring and renaming to improve understanding

• Andres at ANL working over summer on bi-directional use cases

  • Looks like this will trigger infra with sim callbacks and shell commands

• Collab with Univ of Oregon for interactive Ascent features.

  • Cyrus STILL needs to work on proposal
