Intention would be to import and, as possible, annotate/flag non-coding genes (e.g. rRNA, tRNA, even expressed pseudo genes).

More effort-intensive but then required: the exporters need parameterized and transparent behavior on whether one is exporting coding, non-coding or both.

done in dev (except parameters are not passed on, so user-facing default remains coding only)
