Hi, I'm Markus!

I am currently studying computer science at the University of Innsbruck and helping maintain Homebrew. I am mostly interested in Ruby and Rust, IoT and all things automation.

What am I working on?

On Homebrew, I was previously part of the Project Leadership Committee as well as the Technical Steering Committee. As for the actual work, I mostly maintain Homebrew Cask and the core code.

In Rust, I have mostly done some personal home automation projects using Raspberry Pis. I also joined the Rust Embedded working group as a member of the tools team to help maintain cross, which I personally use to cross compile Rust for the Raspberry Pi. I have also contributed to various existing crates for embedded sensors and also crated new crates for some.

I am also currently working on my master thesis modularizing the PermaSense Geophone Platform and making it easier to maintain and reason about sensor states using Rust.

Why sponsor me?

Your sponsorship will keep me motivated and gives me affirmation that my work for the open-source community is appreciated. Additionally, it will also make it a little easier to justify spending more time on open source.

I like to make our developer experience better by contributing to projects like Homebrew, so if this is also important to you, please support me.

Ethics

Your sponsorship does not have any impact on my decisions, opinions and actions as a maintainer of any project.
