If you have a question about MMOMV, it might be one of those that was already asked and answered therefore feel free to use this F.A.Q. as a reference point before going further.

  1. I would like the way MMOMV works to be different

MMOMV is an open-source, fully unlicensed and totally free project which aim at allowing both developers and makers to build what they want, how they want. Still, it does not mean that the staff behind MMOMV will change the way the technology works for one single project. Everyone is not a developer and that is understandable but it is up to you to find someone with the needed skills to write the additional plugins that will allow you to have what you want!

Also, make sure to check MMOMV Trello, maybe the feature you are looking for is an incoming one.

  1. I am afraid of compatibility issues with my existing project

Normally, MMOMV should work with almost every existing RPG Maker MV plugins BUT it might happen that sometimes, not, like movements plugins. Of course, one of the main objective of MMOMV is to be easily integrated in existing project as well as compatible with the existing ecosystem of plugins so feel free to report conflicts on the Discord server.

  1. Do I need a server for my game ?

The day you want your game to be enjoyable between you and other players, it is advised to have a server on which you can use both RethinkDB and NodeJS.

  1. Can it work on Windows/Mac/... ?

Yes, MMOMV uses NodeJS and RethinkDB which are both available on tons of different operating systems.

  1. Can I make commercial games ?

MMOMV is entirely unlicensed, free to use and open-source therefore, yes, you can BUT you need to make sure that other things in your game are not contradicting this such as copyrighted graphical resources or plugin.

  1. Can MMOMV work on RPG Maker MZ ?

Apparently, it can. Check this video to see it working under MZ.. A proper tutorial is planned at how to properly make your game made with MZ work with MMOMV. You can also check out the dedicated branch of the project.

  1. I can't download RethinkDB for Windows
