Procedural...Everything
This game is designed from the ground up so that everything is procedural generated. If I may take a quote from toms blog post:
" want to see procedural content not just create the raw terrain maps, but thousands of tribes, nations and empires. I want it to generate language, culture, aesthetics, architecture, religion, scientific progress, humanity. I believe that many different game engines should connect to a single cloud data application in order to create persistent worlds. Strategy gaming should prepare for next generation graphics technology, neural network AI, and implement many different portals to access game information. Taking exponential trends into consideration, I want to see what a strategy game looks like when millions of semi-intelligent “agents” compete or collaborate for resources."
Every level of this game should be procedurally generated, from the highest levels(a whole galaxy) to the smallest levels(individual agents competing for food). This means that you can watch a creature fight its way from living alone in the world to founding a tribe, that creature you were just watching then passes away and his son takes over, you can watch(and interfere) with this family from the beginning to the end. This create infinite replay value because every single time you play you get to watch a whole new world develop and blossom into a space fairing civilization. Each world has its own tech tree as well which has many paths to the top, and many choices you make will make others unavailable, in other words you can never get them all.
