In the official docs it doesn't say anywhere that you are expected to have Wireguard preinstalled. I added a simple note that lets users know that they need to install Wireguard along with a link to the Wireguard Docs for installation.

Hello @Darin755, thanks for your contribution.

Did you miss this section in the docs?

openwisp-controller/README.rst

Lines 1128 to 1137 in 226442c

2. Deploy Wireguard VPN Server
##############################
If you haven't already setup WireGuard on your VPN server, this will be a good
time do so. We recommend using the `ansible-wireguard-openwisp <https://github.com/openwisp/ansible-wireguard-openwisp>`_
role for installing WireGuard since it also installs scripts that allows
OpenWISP to manage WireGuard VPN server.
Pay attention to the VPN server attributes used in your playbook. It should be same as
VPN server configuration in OpenWISP.

Perhaps I missed something. I applied the playbook and wireguard was not installed. I just figured that the playbook wasn't suppose to install Wireguard. Should I go ahead and close this?

@Darin755 which playbook (ansible role) did you use?

https://github.com/openwisp/ansible-wireguard-openwisp is supposed to install WireGuard.

I though I ran the one you listed. I'll try again when I get a chance.
