Android Document Scanner Library

This library helps you to scan any document like CamScanner.

Download

Step 1. Add it in your root build.gradle at the end of repositories:

allprojects {
	repositories {
		...
		maven { url 'https://jitpack.io' }
	}
}

Step 2. Add the dependency

dependencies {
        implementation 'com.github.meganz:AndroidDocumentScanner:TAG'
}

How to build library locally in terminal

  1. Run command export JAVA_HOME=your/path/to/JDK11
    • For example: export JAVA_HOME=/opt/homebrew/opt/openjdk@11/ if you installed JDK11 by homebrew
  2. Create a local.properties in the project root, and set Android SDK and NDK path.
    • For example:
    sdk.dir=/Users/userXXX/Library/Android/sdk
    ndk.dir=/Users/userXXX/Library/Android/sdk/ndk/21.3.6528147

  3. Run ./gradlew assemble
  4. When build is successfully, we will need the 2 aar files:
    ./documentscanner/build/outputs/aar/documentscanner-release.aar
    ./opencv/build/outputs/aar/opencv-release.aar
  5. Import the 2 aar files to your project and set up the the local dependency

How to use

Call DocumentScannerActivity like following:

    Intent intent = DocumentScannerActivity.getIntent(this);
    startActivityForResult(intent, REQUEST_CODE_SCAN_DOCUMENT);

Get the result document on onActivityResult():

    if (requestCode == REQUEST_CODE_SCAN_DOCUMENT) {
        if (resultCode == RESULT_OK) {
            Uri fileUri = intent.getData();
            String fileMimeType = intent.getType();

            // do something
        }
    }

Add the Activity to your AndroidManifest.xml file:

    <activity
        android:name="nz.mega.documentscanner.DocumentScannerActivity"
        android:launchMode="singleTop"
        android:screenOrientation="sensorPortrait"
        android:theme="@style/DocumentScannerTheme"
        android:windowSoftInputMode="stateHidden|adjustNothing"/>

You can set a custom android:theme to override the default one.
