#DOCUMENTATION# This is a custom API for accessing all the leaks from wikileaks.org (as of 2016) . This API is unaffiliated with Wikileaks. It was created in order to easily query for url’s to leaks associated with different countries and leak groups.
My API requires that you specify a country. Each country consists of 20 leak groups and those leak groups consist of links and names. This is the key difference between the way wikileaks.org shares information and the way my API shares that same information. By funnelling the leaks through a set of filters my aim is to bring caution to information overload.
"Information overload occurs when the amount of input to a system exceeds its processing capacity. Decision makers have fairly limited cognitive processing capacity. Consequently, when information overload occurs, it is likely that a reduction in decision quality will occur." - Alvin Toffler
What does it mean today to have access to any(most) information and therefore not have access to the right parts? How do we scrape the true, right information? My aim with this API is different from wikileaks.org’s: I am not throwing potentially "catastrophic files" along with a bunch of unimportant files at you. Through a systematization we can query the information we need. I am giving you a tool to re-represent this information in a systematic way. My Api interface only works if the user has specified a country. Each country consists of 20 leakgroups and those leak groups consist links and names.
##To Begin##
You can't use this API without specifying a country.
Specify a country name :
country= ‘country name’ ex: country=Turkey
Specify a leak group : (below the page are all leakgroups you can choose from) If you don't specify a leakgroup you will get all the data from all leakgroups
leakgroup= ‘leakgroup name’ ex: leakgroup=Global Intelligence Files
Specify how many links to get back (count) : if you don't specify count you will get 50 links under that leakgroup
count= ‘number’ ex:count=15
full example of all queries together: “ wiki.lalavgen.com/api?country=Turkey&leakgroup=Global Intelligence Files&count=20 ”
###Demo Application:### WikileaksData_Map.
If you only specify a country, you will get all data that all leakgroups have on a country
If you don't specify a leakgroup but only country and count, you will get that number of links from first leakgroup which is "Global Intelligence Files"
If you don't specify count but a leakgroup, you will get back first all links by default
You can query all the data on one country, or specify the leakgroup that leaked the spesific files in a country.
There are 20 leak groups you can choose.
These are:
1."Global Intelligence Files",
2."Plusd",
