dougkeyboard (not maintained)

doug Keyboard is an iOS keyboard. It features a QWERTY-like layout, visual guides to improve accuracy, and a preview window so you never have to take your eyes off the keyboard.

NB

This application is written in Swift 2.3. Versions of XCode greater than or equal to 8.3 apparently do not support Swift 2.3. If you open this project in XCode >= 8.3, XCode will probably tell you the project needs to be converted to Swift 3 or 4 (as of this writing 20170802). That conversion will probably result in warnings and errors which you would need to resolve on your own. This application includes no libraries.

Run

  1. Open the root of the repository with XCode.
  2. Press the play button in the upper-left corner of the XCode window or press Cmd-R to run the project.
  3. In the iPhone simulator (which should have just popped up) navigate to Settings -> General -> Keyboard -> Keyboards -> Add New Keyboard. Select doug from the list.
  4. Begin typing in any app.
  5. Press the globe icon in the lower-left of the keyboard until doug Keyboard appears.
  6. Double-tap the hand icon for a tutorial.
