Including example styles in the build/distribution could be used to showcase various capabilities and give users a guide on how to achieve a variety of effects.
This PR contains styles for spot colors; global colorations like "faded", pastel, and sepia; color changes such as fixing blue LED lighting and producing an autumn appearance from green foliage; contrast and sharpness effects like extreme local contrast; and effects like 2x2 montage of images, motion blur and "day for night" from cinematography.
Additional contributions for showcasing capabilities and improvements of the included styles welcomed! I'm attaching a ZIP file with the .dtstyle files for anyone who wants to try out the styles without having to build dt with this PR. Either way, the styles will appear in a hierarchy under 'darktable examples'.
Presumably too late for 5.0, especially if we want to allow additional contributions, so I've tagged it for 5.2.
