This file structure is closer to Sage's structure. It's also aligned with classic theme file structures.
Most modern projects that rely on build scripts like Vite or Turbopack/Webpack usually have all critical files in an
/app/
directory, or similar. This one uses/resources/
for the view files and assets.Considering this is a WordPress theme, keeping the base minimum files in the theme root makes just as much sense.
