[Bug]: Unreadable text #2871

@A5m0deu5 is your game in Russian? Those mod names are from the game and if YimMenu doesn't load in the fonts required from language specific strings. |
That's right, the game is in Russian. But as I wrote, I tried to change its language using YimMenu, which did not work. It turns out that half of the menu inscriptions are taken from the game, and half are not? I can still read the text "Roof" etc. |
Dynamic content like that in-menu Los Santos Customs relies on data from the game, however that content will be dependent on the language that game is set to. We made some changes to how all the fonts are loaded in and only load in those that are required, however as you've noticed we don't check against the in-game language. |
@Yimura That's not entirely true. We check for Korean, but that's an edge case. The user onboarding window is in English which is kinda ass-backwards, because we expect non-English people to read it and select their language which in this case they haven't. |
The thing is that it's a little more convenient for me to use the menu in English than in Russian. I didn't expect such problems with the display of text. |
@Yimura Oh, wait. I changed game language to English in YImMenu, so menu & game languages is the same, now all works! One inscription was "Null", but in second window all correct (it's exhaust). I can pin screenshots if it's matters. |
Yeah but it's still not the perfect solution for people that want to have the menu in English and their game in a different language, I'll try again in the future as this was an edge case I didn't immediately think about. |
Describe the bug
Switching the menu to English, I noticed that some of the inscriptions became unreadable, although everything is fine in Russian. I've tried set game language to English in Yim settings too. No results.
