Adding new symbols to the symbol picker

This document assumes you have the relevant symbols in a .otf file in the static/fonts folder. If you need to add new custom icons, please read the creating new font symbols instructions

Users with staff status can add new symbols to the symbol picker using the admin interface. If you have staff status, you'll see an Admin link in the top navigation menu:

On the admin site select the green plus symbol next to Symbols to add a new symbol:

Select the symbol group you'd like to add the symbol to from the drop down menu:

Enter the character code from the Alphabetum font (it is not necessary to add a name):

Click save.
