We do not have access to the content or metadata of your communications via the Quiet app. We will not modify the Quiet app to enable us or anyone else to access that content or metadata.

We do not collect any information about how Quiet is used or who uses it, with the following exceptions:

  • Quiet for Mac, Windows, and Linux checks for and downloads updates from our update server. To ensure updates will be available even if there is an issue with Tor, Quiet does not use Tor to connect to our update server, which is hosted on Amazon Web Services and may keep logs, including IP addresses. See: AWS Privacy Notice.
  • Tryquiet.org is hosted on GitHub Pages, and informational pages like this one are hosted on GitHub. See: GitHub Privacy Statement.
  • Alpha releases of Quiet send error logs to Sentry (this is disclosed on startup) to help us find and fix errors during internal testing. See: Sentry Privacy Policy.
