How new are you to OpenCPN? What equipment? Are you using the Plugin Manager? Have you tried Options > Plugins?
If not, you should close this and post your question at https://www.cruisersforum.com/forums/f134/ where we answer user questions. Thank you.

dear Rgleason, i am not so new to openCPN,
I am running a Rasp Pi4;
With Ubuntu 22.04 i got GPS to work but the plugin manager option plugins and update does not work and i am stuck to the original 4.
When i run openplotter image, i am able to have all plugins and get the install of my STD-AIS.
Maybe should i try to install the flatpack on ubuntu?
Thanks for the link, it willl be probably very helpfull.

@CaptN-Hornet, thanks, can you add to our knowledge about Testplugin_pi FE2 in this thread? You have considerable experience with RPI and it would be very helpful we are interested in the plugins for OpenCPN 5.7.1 (future 5.8) and in particular the ones that are built using FE2 found in Testplugin_pi. The plugins which use that frontend are Weatherfax, Weather_routing, Polar, Plots, Climatology, Celestial_navigation, Ocpn_draw, Squiddio, etc. The ones that I thought worked ok were moved to the PIM plugin manager Options > Plugins Master Catalog. The rest of them including testplugin_pi are found in Beta Catalog. To get to that add "catalogexpert=1" underneath [plugins] in your opencpn.conf or opencpn.ini.

@rgleason I will look into my ubuntu install and try to fix things (keeping openplotter as working rig) and use it as testing rig.

Bdbcat has identified several additional builds that we need to script and distribute
jongough/testplugin_pi#284 look just below the table.
This might help you.

There are exactly three builds that we need today missing:

debian-x86_64-11
debian-arm64-10
ubuntu-wx32-x86_64-22.04, special case for jammy.
