Using External Relays

External relay connectivity is a new feature. Please provide feedback, if you have any findings/issues in your environment.

image From version 0.92 Arska supports external relays in addition to GPIO relays connected to the ESP32 board. To define external relay, set relay type, IP address, and relay id in the channels definition page. Relay configuration does not support password protection, so use relays only in a properly firewall-protected local network.

Shelly Gen 1 relays

Shelly Gen 1 supported devices and API. Relay id is a number of connected relay port, starting from 0.

This feature is tested with Shelly 3 EM (relay functionality), version v1.12-3EM-gcf4f7c2

Shelly Gen 2 relays

Shelly Gen 2 supported devices and API. Relay id is a number of connected relay port, starting from 0.

This feature is tested with Shelly Pro 2, version: 0.11.0 . (Shelly Gen 2 relays support a minimal set of Gen 1 functionality, so newer Gen 2 devices seem to work also with Gen 1 relay type setting.)

Tasmota relays

Tasmota is an open-source firmware for ESP devices. Relay id is a number of connected relay port, starting from 1. Tasmota module configuration

Tested with an ESP8266 relay board with Tasmota 12.1.1.
