A hybrid VR and telemedicine platform leveraging AI, Unity, and Next.js to transform mental health care in low-resource environments like Kenya.
In today's turbulent world, mental health stands at a crossroads. Global instability, sometimes referred to as "World War 3" in public discourse, has heightened collective anxiety. Local crises amplify this further — for instance, the 2025 Kenyan protests following the death of blogger Albert Ojwang (Reuters), which left over 60 dead (Human Rights Watch).
Yet, mental health care remains critically under-resourced. In Kenya, there is just 1 psychiatrist per 2.3 million people (Ministry of Health, 2020). Traditional therapies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) are effective, but high costs, stigma, and logistical barriers prevent access — especially during crises.
The need is urgent: survivors and witnesses of traumatic events face PTSD, anxiety, and depression, while disrupted healthcare systems struggle to respond.
Teletherapy is our answer: an immersive VR and telemedicine platform that blends virtual reality, AI, biofeedback, and telemedicine to create accessible, engaging, and effective therapy experiences.
