Install and uninstall use AppleScript to perform their actions (with GUI dialogs), which means there is no way for us to uninstall via conventional means. @caskroom/maintainers Any ideas?

I have considered this before (for obsidian-menu-bar, as well as for others including utorrent). We would have to write our own uninstall script though, since it's not distributed with the package - I'm not sure where to store it. It might work if we have some sort of an artifact for housing AppleScript GUI-scripting driven uninstallation scripts.

I have two ideas. One is to remove this troublesome Cask to the boneyard until/unless someone cares enough to provide an uninstall. The other is to add uninstall :manual to the DSL, by analogy to installer :manual.

uninstall :manual makes a lot of sense when looking at the DSL, but then I'm not sure how it would actually work. The uninstall verb deletes the staged distribution, removing the item that the user would be prompted to run in most cases.

I vote on that one as well. This is, after all, duplicating functionality that is currently available on Yosemite, so its usage should only decline.

Regarding uninstaller :manual, I see it working only as exclusive to all other :uninstall stanzas. It should be useful for cases like the ones in #6872. It would simply give manual instructions on which app to run to perform an uninstall, perhaps moving it to /tmp (or ~/Desktop, so it’s really obvious the uninstall wasn’t complete) beforehand. I’m very unconvinced with this approach, though.
