Right now our config stores non-user editable fields. We should have a second log file that stores system level vars in ~/.local/state so as not to confuse users who edit the config manually.

We may want to make a function/optarg that outputs other environment vars that a user can set at the CLI, so as not to clutter the main --help but to be accessible in program.
