Accessing Z-Stick 7

This could be lack of understanding... what have I missed ?
Reviewing my QNAP NAS it appears the device is recognised. Trying to then access this via zwave-js-ui I'm getting "Driver: Failed to open serial port: Error: No such file or directory, cannot open /dev/ttyS0 (ZW0100)"

From web troubleshooting, the relevant files are within /usr/local/modules

/dev/ttyS0 is a serial console, not the Z-Wave controller. The controller is usually /dev/ttyACM0 or /dev/ttyUSB0. Or if QNTAP supports it, a symlink in /dev/serial/by-id. The latter preferred.

Thanks, had a feeling I had in frustration started to head down the wrong path trying /dev/ttyS0. I'll go back a few steps and try to get the controller recognised

I've followed numerous posts but seem to be hitting a wall.

This looks more like the QNAP and something not working as whatever I try I can't get my Z-Stick is seen as Device 005: ... showing as '/dev/ttyUSB0' or find any reference to '/dev/serial/by-id'

Maybe the required USB driver is not available on QNAP? Or not enabled by default? I know USB serial devices are not supported on Synology by default.

You will probably have more luck in a QNAP support forum, or maybe HA. Here's an old one for Gen5: https://forum.qnap.com/viewtopic.php?t=139198. Doesn't not sound pleasant, I'd suggest looking for a different platform, a dedicated SBC or a POE controller (TCP serial) might be easier.
