Aarch64 support

Hey, was wondering if we could enable aarch64 in the release builds? I don't immediately see anything that's x86 only. It's mostly bash scripts isn't it?

full aarch64 support was added in #722, which will be included in the next release. Due to the nature of how loading device trees works (it's embedded in the EFI image), we cannot release a generally-useful EFI image for aarch64, and building your own image will be required.

basically every real aarch64 device needs a device tree, even the ones that support UEFI (like the snapdragon laptops)

oh that sucks, i wanted to support aarch64/arm64 in my alpinebox project, but it seems its not possible to create a generic image?

it is possible to do, it just might not be super useful

why not? the industry is slowly moving towards ARM: apple's laptops and even microsoft's laptops are both ARM architecture already.

neither support ACPI, so they need a device tree. this has to be built into the image to work.
