We would like to propose the addition of a feature to build the Spilo image using an RPM-based base image.
Proposal:
Currently, the Spilo image is built using an ubuntu based image. We suggest that we consider building the Spilo image on an RPM-based base image, which can have advantages in certain scenarios, such as compatibility with RPM package management systems and environments.
Benefits:
Improved compatibility with systems that rely on RPM package management.
Greater flexibility in accommodating RPM-based environments.
Enhanced alignment with specific use cases.
Request for Collaboration:
Are you open to receiving a Pull Request for this proposal? We would be willing to contribute to the implementation if the community is interested in pursuing this enhancement.
