Current Behavior

YTMD runs in English and English only (except where localization is available directly from Google / YTM), i.e., does not make use of the ytmdesktop/ytmdesktop-locales repo

Expected Behavior

YTMD respects system locale (or at least provide a language selection menu in settings).

Steps To Reproduce

  1. Download and install YTMD
  2. Hover over buttons added by YTMD and observe all tooltips being displayed in English
  3. Open Settings popup and observe absence of language menu

YTMDesktop

2.0.0 (6d0abf5)

OS

Windows 11

Arch

x64

Installation way

exe

Anything else?

Because localization was available in v1.y.z, I think the absence of localization in v2 should be considered a regression (although I don't really mind using YTMD in English)

We had said heavily that we had lost a lot of features from v1. But this was due to the aging system of the app from not having updates in 4 years.

It was something we wouldn't be able to do on our own as ALL the strings more or less have changed and will require updating in the languages.

It's marked as High Priority for next release~
But we need to process some bits like structure of it, and fixing some of the issues where the Gist was blocked from being downloaded 😅
