Not sure if this is the right place for this, but I’ve got a weird issue I would love to see if BetterDisplay might be able to help me with. I have a M2 Pro Mac and a PC. Both are connected to a TESmart KVM (DP 1.4 model, built in EDID emulation, model is DKS202-M24-USBK). I have 2 monitors. Primary is an LG UltraGear 32GR93U-B 4k 144hz, secondary is a bit older Dell UH2515 1440p 60hz (note that it only does DP 1.2). I’m getting correct resolution and refresh rate on both machines for both monitors. However something weird is happening. If I switch from my Mac to the PC via the KVM, everything works great and both displays render instantly. However, when I switch from the PC to the Mac, the main 4k display has picture instantly, but the 1440p Dell does not. I have to switch the Dell to a different input (HDMI or DP slot 2), then back to the correct DP input and then it will display an image. Also weird is that when the screen is black right after switching from PC to Mac on the KVM, BetterDisplay immediately recognizes the Dell and shows display status as connected despite no picture. Does anyone know what could be going on, and if BetterDisplay may be able to help? I’m open to finally upgrading the secondary monitor, I’d just love to solve via software if possible. I tried fooling around with EDID through BetterDisplay but nothing there changed anything. I was able to switch the inputs via BetterDisplay so that at least saves me the button presses on the terrible monitor menu, but it's still not ideal. I also am just confused why it’s flawless going from Mac to PC, but fails from PC to Mac (and inputs have to be switched for it to work). Any help or pointers would be greatly appreciated, thanks! |
