setting custom resolution doesnt work anymore

am trying to add a custom resolution to the main display which is the native for it, but it doesnt work.

i tried to use the virtual display to get around that but its kinda confusing, in the older version of the app it was working as expected.

here is my current setup for the display

so any help is appreciated.

Hi - the problem is that your native resolution is 1920x1080 and (with Apple Silicon) you can't create a higher than native custom scaled resolution. The display should be a QHD one, so this might be a connection issue.

This is disappointing from Apple Silicon.

My previous MacBook allowed custom resolutions.

Does this now mean we have to buy new high resolution monitors or what is the possible solution.

I see many people can't adjust the resolution and there seems to not be a solution.

We have to buy new monitors, or we wait and hope Apple fixes this?
