I searched the existing issues but could not find any up-to-date discussion on this topic. Sometimes when I wake the Mac after a long sleep with the external display cable connected, the external display seems to lose the custom resolution etc. settings. Specifically, the only feature I want from BetterDisplay is "Enable flexible scaling" and to set the external display to a specific resolution that's not natively supported by macOS. After cable reconnect the option is enabled again and my favorite resolution is activated automatically. I wonder if the display isn't identified correctly by BetterDisplay and so it uses default settings instead of my custom ones?

Hi there, this is a known general bug with macOS Sonoma which happens with some displays that might be responding slowly on wake with Macs - in this case the display's configuration is not properly loaded by the system. Try enabling this setting - the app will check if flexible scaling resolutions are present and if not it tries to reinitialize/reconnect the display (up to two times) until the resolutions appear.

Hi there,
this is a known general bug with macOS Sonoma which happens with some displays that might be responding slowly on wake with Macs - in this case the display's configuration is not properly loaded by the system.
Try enabling this setting - the app will check if flexible scaling resolutions are present and if not it tries to reinitialize/reconnect the display (up to two times) until the resolutions appear.
