App to remember display settings after disconnecting/reconnecting monitor

Is it possible to make the app remember the display settings? Every time I disconnect the laptop and reconnect, it forgets them.

It should remember the display settings unless there is an issue with the display identification.

Display layout is remembered by the macOS WindowServer, it uses the UUID number generated based on the display's identifiers.

Any pointers for me to debug this further? It seems like a bug, but not sure how I could help you reproduce it.. Monitor is Lenovo, and connected with a HDMI cable

@waydabber even if I quit the app and reopen (without disconnecting the cable), it 'forgets' the setting. I suppose the main settings I'm looking for are over 100% brightness, and turning off the laptop's screen. Are these two supposed to persist?

Ah, I see. Which app version are you using?

over 100% brightness is restored by default (on the latest 2.2.6 app version) for some forms of upscaling, depending on settings. Turning off the laptop screen is not supposed to be restored by default but you can enable Disconnect reconnected displays upon wake under Connection management settings.

Brilliant that setting did the trick. I'm using "2.2.6". Brightness beyond 100% seems to be working too. Only tested with exiting/reopening the app. I'll test later with physically disconnecting the display and report back
