How do I set the mode via an environment variable

Hello,

I am trying to integrate vite into our build system. I can see that I can set the set the mode using the --mode cli option. However is it possible to set it via an environment variable (ie MODE=development vite build or VITE_MODE=development vite build)?

Looks like setting a VITE_MODE environment variable works as expected.

It's impossible. The workaround is to add the --mode parameter to your build scripts and use an environment variable to set the value of the parameter. See #17513 for details.
