Vimwiki has a lot of users but only very few recurring developers, maintainers and people helping otherwise. This leads a large number of open Issues, Pull requests and few people helping others in the chat. To build a vimwiki community we'd appreciate your help. You can help whether you are a developer or not!

What can I do as a developer?

  • Fix a bug – there are plenty!
  • Review an open Pull request to make it easier for maintainers to decide if it should be merged.
  • Add a feature
  • Apply as a maintainer (More maintainers for vimwiki #624)

What can I do without coding skills?

  • Test if you can reproduce an issue (and comment on the issue)
  • Test or figure out if old issues are still valid (and comment on the issue)
  • Apply for right to "triage issues" (will give it to everyone who's willing to help) and add labels to the issues.
  • Test an open Pull request to make it easier for maintainers to decide if it should be merged.
  • Help vimwiki to get a logo (Vimwiki needs a logo #589)
  • Join #vimwiki on IRC (freenode) or #freenode_#vimwiki:matrix.org on Matrix/Riot and help others with there questions
  • If you know of any plugins or tools that work together with vimwiki add them to this list
  • Improve the vimwiki-homepage
  • Create a screencast explaining vimwiki usage

How to donate to the project or to its founder?

There is no organization or alike for vimwiki, so donating to the project is not possible. The original author was @habamax who stopped working on vimwiki in 2013, after that @EinfachToll has been the main author from 2014 to 2019. Lately @rane-brown @tinmarino and me have been the main recurrent contributors. See here for visualisation and numbers
What I want to say is that receiving donations is tricky not only for the technical reasons but also morally since it would be unclear who should get what. Therefore, donating money won't be an option anytime soon.

I'll add here that if you have time to spare, effort expended on tech support (Freenode / Matrix), issue triage, and documentation would all be most welcome. :)

@Nudin In the first comment, would you fix the link for "list" in "vimwiki add them to this list" to the new wiki:
