Support contain mode with transparent background in crop option

When cropping with the widget, important parts of the image are cut off if the aspect ratio doesn’t match. To fix this, I often have to go to Photoshop and manually add transparent background space, which is time-consuming.

Add a contain crop mode that preserves the original aspect ratio and fills extra space with a transparent background.

Could you please tell us a bit more about your use case in which scenarios it’s especially important for you to keep the original aspect ratio with a transparent background? This will help us better understand the problem.

By the way, we’ve recently made a big update to crop-preset: now it’s possible to pass multiple different crop presets. You can read more about this in the documentation

We operate a live music ticketing platform where event promotional images are displayed in a standardized 1x1 square format across our interface. Currently, when event organizers upload non-square images (typically rectangular promotional materials), they must manually edit these images using external tools like Canva to create square versions with transparent backgrounds or padding.

We have attached sample images showing the original rectangular format and the manually-created square version to illustrate this workflow challenge.
