Description

UDT is at the heart of Unlock DAO. Our application is to develop a token interface and logic that makes governance and staking information easily accessible to all UDT holders. The token interface will provide an intuitive UX seamlessly across various platforms, including wallets, marketplaces, Telegram, and Farcaster.

There are 4400 unique UDT holders and 147 delegates yet only 5-6 participants in governance. Every UDT holder does not visit the governance portal. However, something that every active holder does is that they check out their SNX tokens in their wallet. What if all the information and actions for users are rendered right where the holders use the token the most?

Surface the core functionalities of UDT, staking and governance, as well as critical project information via an app like interface on the tokens themselves allowing holders to stay up to date and execute governance functions in the places they spend their time most (wallets, marketplaces, twitter, farcaster, telegram)

By turning the UDT token into a tapp holders can easily experience the following functions directly through the token in their wallet:

• View and vote on proposals
• View the status of delegation
• Update the delegation

We are asking for 5000 USD worth of UDT tokens.

The budget would be used to partially fund the efforts to create the tapp for ARB, for the team based in Australia. The main efforts include:

• UI Designing and Interactive design: (40 Hours)
• Solution Design and Architecture: (20 Hours)
• TokenScript Development: (40 Hours)
• Testing: (24 Hours)

Hi @AW-STJ thank you for the application,

I like the idea but can't imagine quite how the user would experience this. Could you provide any visuals/ mock-ups to make this more obvious, please? Also we are currently moving the DAO to Base and have created a new token in the process called UP. This is the documentation on that: https://docs.unlock-protocol.com/governance/unlock-dao-tokens
Since @julien51 explained to me recently the function of UDT vs UP is similar to that of ETH and WETH I am wondering if that relationship could be included in your application?

We definitely can have the relationship between the tokens. One action I can imagine is to bridge/swap UDT to UP. Give us a day, will get back to you by early next week.

I was curious to see what fellow DAO members think of something like an app directly tied to the token but it seems for now there is not a lot of interest. I think it has to do with the fact that we are moving currently from Ethereum (UDT) to Base (new token called UP) and everything feels a bit new and even not quite as balanced yet.

I think we should not archive your proposal and let it resurface in a few weeks once more to see if interest arises from the group. What do you think? Also, it could be interesting to join a few DAO or Town Hall calls (maybe your team since they are not friendly to your time zone) to see if you can discover other needs in the DAO!
