I am on Debian testing . I tried out unknown-horizons today, I am stuck at trying to get trading with the free trader.

I try buying the tools but he moves away and the transaction is never completed.

Also it took me lot of time to understand what was being meant by third tab. It perhaps would have been lot better if the third tab i.e. tools were highlighted or something so a newbie gamer who is using the tutorial knows what is expected of her/im.

I built that, It's not just visible on that screenshot, let me share another.

what I should have shared is that the game should pause like it is when you are doing inventory management and so as in most games, the time stops. In it, it doesn't :(

Another possibility is to click on the trading ship and trade, maybe that can be implemented ? At that moment, it stays still, doesn't try to move.

The Free Trader works. But you dont have set that you want buy or sell something.
Thats an screenshots with setup of of buying something.

I am/was trying to use the tutorial to figure out how the game works. This is in the tutorial where I got stuck. Is the functionality as you shared above also incorporated in the tutorial ?

I was trying the same, after the signal fire. I satisfied both the conditions but it's hard to trade with the free trader or even function with the warehouse. The condition is to have 30 tools at all times in the warehouse for progress.

Its not hard it takes some time. You could set buy tools to maximum.
