Support issues and questions are handled at /r/uMatrix
I tried to reproduce the issue when...
uMatrix is the only extension
uMatrix with default lists/settings
using a new, unmodified browser profile
I am running the latest version of uMatrix
I checked the documentation to understand that the issue I report is not a normal behavior
I used the logger to rule out that the issue is caused by my ruleset
Description
uMatrix need to be complemented with improvements to redirect. Doing so is not uMatrix responsibility.
Using uMatrix with restrictive setup (e.g. denying cookies/script for * and whitelisting sites) makes it very hard to log onto sites that use redirect flows, such as many sites using multiple domains or Oauth.
The main repo old issue list have the Top Organic Search Engine result for "umatrix redirect": gorhill/uMatrix#20 (which it self is a copy from a switchboard issue).
Suggestion
The old gorhill/uMatrix/issues/20 was kept open and users could help one another pointing to other extensions that worked well to pause redirects until the uMatrix user whitelisted the new hostname. Most of those extensions are gone now but that page is still the top result. My suggestion with this ticket is to be the new semi-official discussion of essential redirect-pausing extensions to complement uMatrix.
Why an issue? reddit is temporal/specific/disposable. Wiki will tax the author and force they to officially promote one extension or another.
