Hi @anusha-a2 So to kick off, the wording in the guidelines "keep the placement of Progress Steps consistent between different pages (steps)" is about the overall placement of the whole component. For example, don't have them at the top of one step, but at the bottom of the next. In the up-coming Wizard Template, there is going to be some guidance around forks in logic:
So that might be something to consider. If the path through the process is somewhat indeterminate and variable, progress steps might not even be the answer and be more confusing than useful too. We don't really have any strong opinions about not doing variable paths, such as adding or subtracting steps, as a condition of your progress. It might be totally reasonable. We'd love for you to test it with customers, though, and bring back your findings, so we can weave it into the up-coming wizard template. Good luck! |
