Whenever I try to install Tor Browser I get this error. Also is it reliable to use torproject.org subdomain since it can be easily blocked?

Are you connected to the internet?

PS: Looks like it's actually blocked now. Is there anything that can be done to circumvent these restrictions other than using a proxy?

There's a button that allows you to download the browser using the Tor network daemon directly. You can also change the current mirror you are using. To get this config menu you have to set the settings flag when launching:

$ torbrowser-launcher --settings

image

Make sure to enable the daemon using:

$ sudo systemctl enable --now tor

After enabling it you will have to wait a bit until fully connected, you can check progress by using:

$ sudo systemctl status tor

Hope this helps <3

Thanks for your advice, sadly it won't work in my case, since Tor itself is blocked in Russia and I can only connect to it using Snowflake.

You can also change the current mirror you are using.

The problem remains with every mirror I've tried so far. It may be related to non-public semi-official restrictions, but I can't say for sure.
