There is always a spike in the bandwidth graphs on nyx startup, so one cannot see the real data in the graphs for about 1 minute.
Sometimes the spike is multiple GB/s.
I'm running nyx 2.1.0 on Linux, but I think the problem here isn't OS dependent.

As I found out here the issue doesn't seem to be related to nyx, but to Tor.
Tor's response to the GETINFO bw-event-cache request seems to contain these spike values.
But still it could be handled by nyx by filtering out such unusual high values.
