Scrolls to beginning of long threads

I am following a person who is updating a really long thread over a period of months. When I click on a new addition to the thread, it is displayed as expected. However, as soon as I touch the screen, the thread is scrolled to the beginning of the thread, and it takes ages to get back to the original toot I wanted to read.
