Local database vs Browser LocalStorage

The problem with browser LocalStorage is the very limited space of 5MiB total for everything.

Describe the solution you'd like

Having a local database or ability to point the self hosted docker container to my own DB would be useful. Perhaps using sqlite might be most useful inside the docker container. Lightweight, small, no db engine to run and maintain.

Describe alternatives you've considered

Storage of the data into a google spreadsheet perhaps? This is API scriptable but cumbersome perhaps.
